Fun Way To Relax and Master STEM Basics
Gear8™ toys take simple fun to a sophisticated new level. Kids learn through a series of challenging mazes, traps and spinnable gears with dead-end trails that will test their dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, and patience.
There are kids’ toys for fun, and there are kids’ toys that are both fun and educational. Play-A-Maze has launched their Gear8™ line of puzzle maze toys that are an affordable, fun and educational way to master STEM basics. STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines: science, technology, engineering and mathematics utilizing an interdisciplinary and applied approach. As opposed to teaching the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
Play-A-Maze develops educational and STEM toys that use to create a fun-to-learn environment for children and adults of all ages. Gear8™ toys take simple fun to a sophisticated new level, while helping children master physical and engineering concepts, and letting adults relieve stress and relax. Get ready to rock 'n roll your way to victory through a series of challenging mazes, traps and spinnable gears that will test your dexterity, hand-eye coordination and patience.
In this digital age where family members are often self-isolated with their digital contraptions, Play- A-Maze products are a great way of bringing people together. Families and groups of people, both children and adults can get together and enjoy play experiences that promote learning and communication of all people, regardless of gender, race, and level of income. Their products create an entertaining way to bring the family together for quality and fun time. This includes play that promotes concentration, no texting, no game apps, no screens, just nice family play.
During a recent interview, Leonid Shafir, Co-Founder of Play-A-Maze, made these comments, “STEM is the latest buzzword in science education. Over the past three years, so much of science instruction and educational toy invention have been focused on the four parts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) STEM definitely has its benefits when it comes to teaching and toy creation. It encompasses many different types of learning, appeals to all different types of students, and fosters a passion for science, tech, and math in children, while supporting their development and mental health. But this is only when STEM is done the right way and when other factors such as anxiety reduction are considered in product development.”
He goes on to say, “Our toy product design is based on my background in psychology of play and on consultations with parents and educators that teach sciences in elementary schools. We also consulted psychologists and occupational therapists that use toys to foster child development, and relieve stress and anxiety in adults”
“Based on these consultations, we designed a family of toys that foster STEM learning while being fun for families, children and adults. We decided to call our product line “Gear8™” because we consider it a “great” way of learning through play.“
Without further ado, let us introduce - “Gear8™” - the newest hand-held puzzle maze that has created a new paradigm in in making STEM learning fun.
Two puzzle maze toys in “Gear8™” line are the Apprentice and the Master: The “Apprentice” is the perfect starter game to hone the skills required to complete the assigned task and gateway you to the next level of play. Players navigate through turnable gears, hazardous traps and tortuous alleyways to complete the game.
The “Master” that will come to market in the near future will have more twists than a pretzel factory. A brigade of a dozen gears and menacing traps make your quest even more twistier and rewarding when you win. This model will have trickier gears, more challenging maze paths than “Apprentice” and even a pendulum to make the gameplay more exciting.
Both toys can be played individually and in groups. Players can even form teams for healthy competition. The toys are completely safe, have no small or lose parts and can be played anywhere: at home, on the road, while waiting in line or taking a little break from surfing the net.
